400,000!!

I have had MS for 7 years now and back then they claimed there were 250,000 people diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I find it VERY had to believe that in 7 years only 150,000 thousand people have been newly diagnosed. For goodness sakes there are more than 250,000 people on Facebook that have MS!

Why does it seem like they are trying to down play the number of people effected by Multiple Sclerosis? It doesn't seem like they try to do this with any other disease. If anything they may raise the number to get more funding. So can someone please explain to me why we don't have an accurate number for those of us effected with Multiple Sclerosis? Unless you believe that our disease is slowly stopping? Ya I wish too!

It's was sure crowed at the cardiologists office today. At times it was standing room only in the waiting room. We were all waiting sonogram for our name to be called that when they did. It was as if we were being called down on The Price is Right! Joe Smith Come on down!!!!

When I was in the exam room with his nurse. After we finished all the normal stuff she tells me she has to do an EKG. She gives me this pink paper half top. She tells me to put it on leave it open in the front. I opened it up before she left the room. I told her "oh thanks for the tiny paper smock!" So she leaves. I go to put this lovely paper half shirt on. I raise my arm up and first I fart! Yah!!!! I didn't realize raising my arm was a trigger that set off the fart button! Then the damn gown rips in half. Yes it "fat guy in a little coated it"! Lol I hope you know what that means. It was better that it ripped. I laid down and because it ripped it actually covered my stomach! My back was completely uncovered! Lol
I was concerned when she came back in to do the EKG that my fart had not had enough time to dissipate. I don't know if she smelled anything. It's hard to tell when it's your own! Lol

So my doctor comes in. We get to talking. I tell him I do cardio everyday! I have to run back and forth to the bathroom all day long! He laughed! I said "oh does that not count"? So I talk with him about my MS. I told him I know you may look at me and think I look healthy. That's a problem a lot of people with MS have. Really I am jacked up on the inside from the MS! He laughed. He was a really nice doctor. We did talk about transplants briefly and he said well your still young so you wouldn't wait long. I said ya but what about my MS. Will they give me a new heart with my MS? He said oh good question! I jokingly said "oh great I will have get one off the black market!" I said I've seen some scary movies about that!

Biggest Loser!
I am sure many of us have a plan to lose weight this year. I have. I would love to lose 50 pounds. I love to watch the show The Biggest Loser. It am always so motivated while I watch the show. I am sitting there on my couch usually eating something cheering on my favorite contestants! I know I am not the only one who does this either! Lol

I finally go to the cardiologist on Tuesday. I can't wait because this getting out of breathe crap for no reason. I swear sometimes I think I am gonna die! It's the same doctor my brother sees. I know the first thing he will say is I need to lose weight. I will say I am trying but with my MS and all it comes with that its hard! Fatigue, migraines, aches and pains ect! It's hard! I should have had the lap band while I had private health issuance! My sister got gastric-bypass and lost 200 pounds. She weighs 120 pounds! She doesn't even look like the same person. It's weird how weight changes the way you look completely!
Wouldn't it be the ultimate motivation if we could get a picture of what we would look like after we lost weight.

DNR....& End of Life Directory...do you have one in place? Do your loved one know what your wishes would be? I know it's something we don't like to talk about.....but YOU NEED TOO!
It's something we all occasionally may talk about and say "we need to do that" but don't end up doing it. I am guilty of this as well. I keep saying I need to go to legalzoom. com and create a will with my end of life wishes. To be honest to really don't know what I want. I am still pretty healthy so it's easy for me to right now say I can't imagine every wanting a DNR! Heck no I want every medical treatment and trick. As I get older and more disabled I am sure I will drastically change my mind.
We all need to be be prepared for our futures. We are not promised tomorrow so we all need to live each day to the fullest and get our affairs in order. It will only help our loved one in the end.

Pain medicines!
Do you keep your prescriptions locked up for safety? I do! I have a fireproof safe that I keep them in plus each bottle has a prescription bottle lock. That way if anyone tried to break into my safe they will have another lock to deal with. I have two teenagers and I don't ever want them to even think about taking my medicine! Plus I feel I shouldn't just put them in the medicine cabinet. Anyone over at my home could wander in my room and take the bottle. Like a new friend of my sons or anyone. It's too much of a hassle to get my pain pills to not guard them like the Hope Diamond!

What do you do to keep your medicines safe?

Deposition in the morning!!!
Those of you that have been reading my blog for awhile know about our lawsuit. Those who are new friends I will try to summarize for you. My husband worked for 8 years for In-N-Out Burger as one of their painters. Approximately 4 years ago they switched to a DuPont paint product. Didn't train any of their employees. After 4 years of using this product and breathing in Isocyanates vapors while painting in I closed tents without proper respirators, and then driving around in his van for GOD knows how many hours breathing in the vapors due to an improper ventilated van. My husband now has severe COPD, asthmatic bronchitis due to chemical exposure. His lungs are that of a 90 year old. He is 44!

So in the morning In-N-Out Burger will be disposing my husband. After meeting for 6 hours with the OSHA inspector it's beyond me why they haven't wanted to settle yet. My husbands dying!!!! They better bring a big BIG checkbook! Those who know me... Know I will never stop fighting for what is right!

Headaches & Migraines
I am so sick of Neurologists telling me that MS does NOT cause headaches or migraines! They are fill of crap! I have had MS for 7 years now. In that 7 years I have had more migraines and headaches then all my previous years combined. In fact when I first was diagnosed with MS it was because I lost my eyesight in both eyes from optic-neuritis. Which by the way caused the most horrific eye pain and migraines until each eye went blind. The pain was right up there with child birth....well maybe it was worse because it lasted 6 days. 6 days of the worst migraine pain ever! It felt like my head was in a vice! I was only in labor for 8 painful hours! I have also been told that lesions on the brain do not cause headaches or migraines. I do not believe that. How can it not?

Do you experience headache and migraines? What has your Neurologist told you about this? Please let me know. I am interested in knowing what you have been told about this.

Adventurous New Years Eve.

It first started out when my next door neighbor a Ceres Firefighter came and rang my door bell. His half brother Jordan was in my home. He was telling us about his first day of work. My son went to the door and told Jordan it was his brother. My son opened the door and the firefighter Billie stepped into my home grabbed his brother by his shirt and threw him into my front door. Then then drug him out and proceeded to toss him into my garage door over and over. I jumped up and called 911. I went out after him. Billie is about a foot taller and 125 pounds more than Jordan. I was worried what he would do in there house. I didn't find Jordan outside but Billie (firefighter) was. I told him I had called the police and I was going to press charges against him. He says for what. Apparently he may have passed a firefighters exam but knew nothing about the laws in California. I was pissed. I shouted across our grass at him. I said its against the law for you to put your hands on ANYONE! He says I can't disabling my kid. I said he's not you kid he is your 19 year old half brother! And no you can't! I just went off on this fool. I said you have a lot to learn about raising a child especially a teenager. Ignoring and isolating another person isn't the way to punish them. Showing him some positivity instead of constantly just negative after negative!

Police showed up and it was BS! I was told and I will quote the officer " in order for it to have been domestic violence the two involved had to have been in an intimate relationship"! I knew he was full of it. In fact I looked it up after they left and the CA law states what the officer said but then continues on saying or people who co-habitat. Billie should have been arrested on domestic violence. Two witnesses and Jordan's shirt was ripped. We told Jordan he can come live here any time.

Then after all that about an hour later my husband comes to me and says let's go for a drive. It was around 11 pm. So Doug, Jordan and myself went for a drive. We drove around for about 15 minutes. As we came around the corner to our house I say a lady running with a sweater and her purse and she was crying almost screaming. I immediately stopped my car. I asked her if she was ok or needed help. She cryied and said "I just want to get home to my kids"! I asked her if she wanted a ride. She said yes. I was so grateful we came around that corner at that exact time she needed help. I am glad we found her and got her home safely. It scares me what could have happened to her if we hadn't stopped. A lot of weird people out there. She said she was just going to run home. She was crying and did most of the way in the car. She just kept saying GOD bless us. I told her everything would be ok.
It feels so good to stop and help other people who need our help. I will help anyone I feel is being abused, hurt or just needs my help. I do not care what the costs may be my husband says. Like running after my big next door neighbor. I just feel that even though I am sick if he wants to hit or punch someone then he can try that on me! See I am not gonna take it like his small brother! I may not win....but I am gonna get a few good ones in! Plus my husband would pull him off me....at gun point! The police would get here quicker too!

Exercise....
Well tonight I did it....that's right I went for a walk after dinner! My husband and I and our dog went. What a sight! All three of us huffing and puffing like dragons! We were placing bets on who was going to need mouth to mouth first. I placed a bets on myself! My legs were wobbly as if I had been drinking. I had to hold on to my husband to keep from falling. We all made it back home! We are going to start going out regularly. We have to start out slow due to we are kinda sloth-like!! Lol
